Neil Stead

Associate Consultant and i-act Instructor

About and Experience

Neil worked across the John Lewis Partnership for over 30 years, amassing a wealth of knowledge and an impressive set of skills. He has also gained extensive experience working with executive and senior leaders across key business functions.

Neil now owns Steady Consulting Ltd – providing Business Consulting services to small and medium sized enterprises (SME). His services are designed to provide expert guidance and support across strategic, customer, operations and employee well-being areas of business. He takes a specialised hands-on approach to providing specific advice and solutions that help the business owner to move forward by overcoming challenges and achieving their goals.

Philosophy and Approach

Neil has developed ‘The Good COP’ – an approach he uses to help review, manage and develop business. He says “it’s all about having a good COP in your business – your Customer, your Operations and your People. You cannot have a high performing, high functioning or highly efficient business if these three are not working well – they all play a huge part in driving business success.”

Through his own lived experiences, Neil further developed his passion for people, specifically their mental health and well-being, and is a qualified Mental Health First-Aider, and an Approved Provider of i-act Training (accredited by The Royal College of Psychiatrists). i-act offers a proactive and supportive approach for a positive mental health and well-being culture in the workplace, by equipping managers, employees and front-line workers with an improved understanding of, and various tools to support a positive approach.

Neil also provides volunteer support for Samaritans and Royal Voluntary Service.
